Hair, Hair, Hair!

Ok, so if you know me, I have never been someone who would spend any time whatsoever on my hair. I never thought there was really any point. I would just pull it up into a bun and call it good. Over this summer however, I decided I wanted to change this. I was tired of having boring hair. My roommates especially BreAnn gave me the push I need last semester. Anyways, so far this semester, I have done my hair in different ways, testing and playing with it so see how certain things look. So far, my hair hasn't been the plain jane look I usually do so it is an upgrade and I'm excited with how it's been working out. Anyways, I thought I would let yall see some of the hairstyles I've come up with and have been doing. Feel free to critique the styles and whatnot!

Ok, so as you can see, I'm starting to learn how to do the fishtail braids. The picture above was my first attempt at the french fishtail braid. It was pretty loose, but it stayed in, which is what I had been aiming for.  The one next to is is a french braid bangs. I have never done that before either, so it was nice to see it turned out. The next two are two more fishtail creations I thought up.

Ok, here is one with my hair curled. Now, I don't usually curl my hair because I always thought it looked bad, but this time it turned out somewhat decent, so it made it to this post.  The one under it is something I thought up. It's a sideways french braid with a twist and tuck under the main braid. I don't know if you can see it in the picture or not.
The one to the right is a new thing I was trying out, and if you look closely, you can see that it is a four strand french braid and I just ended it in a messy bun.  Ok so the next two is something I did a day or two ago. I was finally getting fishtail braids and I wanted to experiment. I ended up curling my hair and disliking it and then wondered what it would look like if I decided to fishtail part of it. So this is how I got this half up half down fishtail hairstyle. Any thoughts on it?
Here is the back view:                                I had a request for a side view, so here is that one:

We are now to the newest one to make it to the group. Today I didn't have time to do anything with my hair so I just did a quick side french braid with a messy bun off to the side.

Sleepover? Sure!

So this weekend, me Jackie, Jenna, Lisa, and Michelle all had a 2 night sleepover. We brought all their mattresses into the living room and I just slept on the couch. It was actually tons of fun! We watched movies, and played guitar/ukuleles. And of course ate very unhealthy food! What can we say? We like to party.
Jenny woke up before us and took a picture of all of us in the living room! Haha :)
Oh, did I mention the bubble wrap?? Lisa got a printer and inside what giant bubble wrap..I don't think the people below us appreciated that, but it was a blast!

Birthday!

So Friday was my birthday and it was amazing! I can't even begin to describe how awesome it was. First things first, I wake up and get to go around the corner and spend an awesome hour at the new spa there. Then I come home, prep for class and then head out. I then come home and just relax and do whatever it is I wanted. I got a text from my amazing cousin Bronwen that afternoon about checking the mail. I do so, and come to find out, she mailed me a birthday party in a bottle :) It was one of the coolest gifts I've ever received. Such creativity! The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orcestra was performing that night and so I was super excited about that. Before it was time to get ready for the performance, me and Jenny head out to Jamba Juice (my most favorite place in the world) and I get a power size smoothie. Now, last year, I was able to down one of those in the time it took me to walk from Jamba to La Jolla. The Willows is a block or so further than La Jolla and I wasn't even half way when I made it back this time! I just stuck it in the freezer when I got there though cause then i had to get ready for MOTAB. Me and Jackie are the only ones that went. Here is us before it started:
After the concert (which was soo amazing!! If you ever get the chance to listen to them, do it!!!) me and Jackie went home. Now, earlier that week someone had posted a sign that said the lounge was reserved from 7 pm to curfew September 21 for some Hilary or something, so when we were walking home, I looked up and saw some people in the lounge and started complaining to Jackie. I figured that the group would be a bunch of guys that would be real noisy all night. When I got to the elevator, Jenny was there and warned me that she was going to blindfold me because she had done something to my bedroom and wanted it to be a surprise. I was worried the whole ride up the elevator that she had confettied my bed. The last thing I wanted to do was clean off my bed.  Next thing I know, I'm passing through the lounge, and stop short. My blindfold is then taken off and I look and see people shouting 'Surprise!!!' at me. This was the last thing I was expecting, and to everyone's enjoyment I'm sure, I screamed and jumped back. They scared me half to death! But once I realized what was going on, I pulled myself back together. The rest of the night went by in a blur. It was such a great time! Even Ian, James, BreAnn, Jenna, A.J., and Eythan was there.

Food??

So even though we are all at college we sure don't live off ramen noodles unless we want to. All of us actually cook a ton, especially Jenny and Michelle. Those girls are always cooking, but no matter what it is, it is usually delicious! So in honor of the epic food, here are some pictures :)

Ready, Set, Pose!

So on Sunday, the whole apartment decided we were going to go to the campus gardens and take some pictures. At first, I wasn't really sold on the whole idea, but it ended up being super fun and the pictures turned out really well! Jenny's boyfriend Eythan was there at the beginning and was able to take a group photo of us, but he soon had to leave and so Lisa and Michelle took turns being in the pictures and taking the photos. Both of them are such great photographers! Anyways, here are some of the photos we took!

Back Together!

So I was lucky enough to have 3 of my roommates from Winter semester rooming with me again this semester! We also have two new people. Jenna, who's Jackie's sister and Lisa, who's Michelle's friend. At first I was a bit nervous around the new girls, but that happens every time. I absolutely adore them now! They are such amazing people and I am truly blessed to have them here with us. When we were all here, we all went out to the Pineapple Grill for dinner to enjoy being back in Rexburg. Although I was pretty sick afterwards and the following day, I had a blast there with them. Jenny is my actual roomie this year and I just adore this gal! She is such an amazing person, and we  get along really well. Whenever I need something or I'm sick, she's there to help. Jackie, Michelle, Jenna, and Lisa are also just as great and I can't wait for the more adventures that are to come!

To the Willows we go!

So this semester, I moved from La Jolla to the Willows which is about a block closer to campus, and brand new! We are the first people to live in this complex! I love living here so far, and it's been great to have my old roomies here too. Anyways, welcome to the Willows tour! Sorry for the messy counter :)
